Funny, I ran into Willard and Hobbs this evening. Willard was greatful for his time at Iona and felt we were in good hands for the future. It seems he was extremely high on Darius and thought that was a tough loss. Insinuated he would have liked him at the Hall. Got the impression he was not that high on our new recruit from Monroe although he didn't come right out and say it. He also seemed to insinuate Sean would have a tough time starting over our current guards. Asked him to give us a game and he said they were working on it. Anyway, came away feeling that even though he left our program he is a class act.

a chance meeting at a restaurant in Central New Jersey. I went over to him and told him I hoped he enjoyed his meal because the chef was an Iona grad. After his face turned blue I quickly explained I was only kidding

I think Armand is the 1st guard off the bench. I also think we'll see alot of Machado,Smyth and Armand on the court at the same time. Who is the backup PG next year?

Sean Armand doesn't seem like a guy who would flourish under KW. Seems like a guy who puts offense first, in the mold of Steve Burtt, Sr. and Jr. KW was more of a coach who stressed team first. Most of us, last year, felt the team needed a Steve Burtt type. JMO.

"Who is the back up point guard next year"
Dont see much of a back court change in 2011 as all but Dwight return... I do hope however we will have a rated point guard freshman recruit who will see controlled time while being groomed to take over Machado's spot in 2012.
IC59....My walk took me down to the Auxilliary Court a few days this week....The gym was closed Monday as they were preparing for some kind of an affair....(Tables--settings---flowers)...Tuesday same thing..Wednesday cleaning up....May walk down today.... Anxious to see how some of our new players shape up.....
Hope to see you down there soon...Await your keen basketball analysis...
Go Gaels!!!!!!
