During this sloooooow period, I think most of you guys are familiar with high school scout Tom Konchalski and will enjoy this well written piece from New York magazine. Characterized by John Feinstein as, “the last honest man in the gym” Konchalski is known as an even better man than he is a scout. Enjoy: nymag.com/news/sports/66474/

Rare breed, not too many around like Konchalski. When I was younger, I had the pleasure of watching some great High School games with him in the late 1980's when I was in 8th grade and freshman year of High School. He would come and sit with my parents and I as we watched my brother battle the likes of Kenny Anderson,Derrick Phelps,Khalid Reeves etc. After my brother dropped 20+ points on Anderson, I asked Konchalski what he thought. He said Anderson was a 5, and my brother was a 3.
Anderson was the best HS player Ive ever seen. TK is the best HS talent evaluator and will be until he decides to call it quits. You can forget all these websites and bloggers that we link on these boards, what this guy says is college basketball bible. Every coach in the nation will say the same
