Looks like a torn ACL may force the greatest closer of all-time into early retirement - freak accident, what a shame.

No current Yankee I respect more than Mo. A true gentleman and the consummate competitor. Hate to see it end with an injury, but I got the sense you'd have to carry him off the field to end his career.

In no way am I am a Yankee fan, but you have to admire and respect a player when he is the best at what he does. I have a feeling that we have not seen the last of Rivera. While I think he was going to retire at the end of the year, I would not be surprised to see him come back next year so he can go out on his own terms.
