The Gaels (#1 seed) started the defense of their softball championship with a 3-0 win over the #4 seed, Marist. Sarah Jackson pitched a five hit shutout. A great start for the Gaels.

Jackson pitched four innings got in trouble Maiese came in and pitched great. I hope Jackson is OK, last two games were not Jackson type games.

Ballsy to lose a 15-inning game yesterday, then bounce back with a win after, then come back and win 2 today. Hopefully their past NCAA experiences will enable them to pull an upset.

Outstanding job Ladies! After losing a 15 inning marathon they come from the loser's bracket to win it all. You gotta love this team's heart. Congratulations on your MAAC Tourney title now go get them in the NCAA's!

I was following the game via Gametracker. Iona had gone ahead, 3-2 and it was the bottom of the nineth, and we had two outs, with just one to go. Then an error which allowed the tying run. A real TOUGH loss. Though only scoring three runs, we did bang out 15 hits. Like I said, a TOUGH loss.
