You guys are all being silly. No Iona players are run off, there are mutual partings of ways. Only Siena runs people off, as they are a dirty program. C'mon, fellas.

guy, we make it seem like it by not releasing info and our guys never transferring to another div 1, but going d2 or d3, like they just found out at the last second and had no place else to go, perception is everything old man, no need for you to answer

As we all know, the Niagara program/roster is in shambles. My suggestion is to have ALL the MAAC non-PIG teams (last season) to be able to protect 12 guys on their roster, with the Purple Eagles then having the option to select their 13th scholarship player and that player would transfer to Niagara, thus building up their roster. For giving up a player that MAAC team would not have to travel to Niagara, thus playing both games (vs. Niagara) at home.

Niagara is having this total implosion take place when seemingly nothing happened. No coaching change, no major scandal or anything, yet more than half of their roster has transferred out. Emile Blackmon is a pretty good guard and Matt Scott had a solid freshman year, but the rest of that roster will probably be putrid. If their athletics budget wasn't stretched thin as is, it would likely be prudent to fire Chris Casey. This is unacceptable.

Josh Walace - Had originally committed to Maryland Eastern Shore a month ago but reopened his recruitment. Raised in Flushing, attended Holy Cross High School and then transferred to Putnam Science Academy. Was expected to be a reserve who was headed to a Div 2 program he exceeded expectations and proved to have better shooting skills and point skills than people thought. www.youtube.com/watch?v=XfOqT4-FSEw#t=40I would assume that the Irish kid Blount is not getting the scholarship ....unless more people are leaving than we thought.

Are we having a JV team this year also? maybe the NCAA went back to having freshman teams!![/quote] I have reached a position that has always been alien to me, that is surrender...I kept a list of all mentioned Iona recruits...As it reached into the 30's it was no longer of value...I will still read such posts, but with a jaundice eye they deserve... To the best of my ability my estimate is that we will have at least 6 new team members...With emphases on bench strength and height... I will offer Cluess the credit he has certainly earned, and wait with faith and anticipation for his final product...

Now Schadrac Casimir is trying to recruit a buddy to Iona. I love this kid... he represents the program well and wants to win. Here is the twitter conversation.. you have to laugh, but the kid he is pitching might be a nice pickup. Shyquinn j. Dix @jshyquinn 2h2 hours ago Should I stay from Ct or naa? ? Schadrac Casimir @schadracc 1h1 hour ago @jshyquinn you should go to Iona Shyquinn j. Dix @jshyquinn 1h1 hour ago @schadracc tell ya coach you wanna share the greatness Schadrac Casimir @schadracc 1h1 hour ago @jshyquinn I ain't say nothing about sharing tho ? Here is a scouting report from NERR Shyquinn Dixon (5-10 PG) USAD/Stamford H.S.: Baby-faced lead guard who elevated his team’s play while on the floor. Knows how to change speeds to beat defenders off the bounce, while having ability to blow by defenders using his quickness. Thinks like a wily veteran. Uncanny feel/vision in the paint to find open teammates when help comes to defend him. Limited range on jumper, but plays to his strength. Projects as definite D-I player. Kid played about 22 minutes a game and averaged 10.3 points and 2 assists as a freshman at JUCO this year. He is from Stamford Academy and averaged 25 points, six rebounds and six assists a game as a senior. From what I can find he is reported to be a great defender, is athletic, can get to the hoop and run the offense. He is now listed at 6' tall. He might be worth a look. Maybe Guy knows something about this kid.
