I'd love to have him, but can't see him as a third assistant. Would think it would a younger/less experienced guy.

Columbia has just named a coach, I forget his name, but he was a former St. Mary's assistant. Fred Q. was reported to have been a candidate. Now that he didn't get the Columbia job, would he be a possible Iona candidate?

Actually, were it not for one letter, the new Columbia coach could be a current Iona player. The new coach is Kyle Smith.

I'd heard not long after Grasso came on board that Q was a target, but there were lots of NYC job openings at that point, and we still have lots of coaching spots to fill in the area. No doubt he'll land somewhere. Would be great to add him to our staff.

1. What do you think the salary range is for a MAAC assistant?
2. Do most think there's a big salary difference amongst #1, 2 and 3 assistants?
Just curious, because it would seem to me that if there were a big difference, it would be tough to fill the #3 slot with a former BE assistant.

I'm guessing that salaries depend on what the person WAS making in a previous job. And if I had to guess, and it's ONLY a guess, I'd say the following: 1. Top assistant makes $20K more than the second. 2. Second assistant makes $10K more than the third. 3. If the third assistant is new to the coaching ranks, he might make less than a third normally would, with the money saved being shared by the top two assistants. Am I way off?

Sounds logical, IC59.
Re what MAAC assistants make in general, much like the head coaching salaries, assistants at Iona, Siena, Fairfield, etc, make more than assistants at SPC, Canisius, etc.
