Hi Guys,
Thanks for remembering. My birthday in my Senior Year at Iona (1984) was on FOUNDER'S DAY. With that Budweiser truck pumping out the beer from a dozen taps, I don't remember too much of that day. Those were the days!
GO GAELS!

Founders' Day does bring back memories - too bad today's students will never enjoy that day. Back then, my office had relocated from the Bronx to, what was then, The Longenes Building on Huguenot Street. One of my responsibilities was college recruiting. With my history and the proximity to Iona (not to mention the great cooperation I received from the Placement Office) that meant that many of our new hires came from the college. The down-side of that was that every year on one Thursday in the spring, by early afternoon, our office turned into a ghost town with many of those new employees returning to "their roots" for the celebration.

That was a great day. Late that night Br. D'Adamo woke me up afterI had taken a drunken nap on the benches. He usually broke my chops but was very understanding and agreed to look past the empty bottles of Andre sparkling wine and the two equally drunk young ladies that were with my buddy and I. He asked us to move along and out of sight and told me I should marry any girl willing to put up with me in any condition... I actually followed his advice and married her...lol. He was very good to me during my time at Iona and I am sure he is missed.
