Great win... the lads played with fire in their bellies. They hustled, fought and scrapped. Another great team win. These guys are jelling!

We have found what was missing "intensity" thanks Jaspers for bringing out the best in the Gaels.

"Fast and Furious" baby! Keep it cranking. Laury off the bench has really been big. Love Isaiah Williams hustle and contributions.

Nice job especially keeping composure early in the second half. I was very impressed with our composure all night. Great game for Dave - happy for him. Poole too. Great team effort.

Great win, students get a lot of credit, great crowd! Classic Iona win, held on, avoided letting it get close, that's how Iona usually wins.
Poole is so much better, Laury played awesome and finally took his time and made free throws. Simply a way better team with IW on the floor, he does so many little things. Only negative was Bowman losing his confidence and owning the Cluess doghouse for the night. Gaels need him to dance.
One of the most memorable nights in Iona history.

Packed house jinx reversed!
Well done all around - team, coaches, students, AD and Dr. Nyre.
I hope TC had recruits on-hand for this classic evening.
Retired Guerin #14 wall logo very well designed- looks absolutely great on the south wall.

great TEAM game. Outstanding balance overall and that is what happens when there are so many guys who can contribute. Excellent game by DL and Mike Poole really gave us a big time performance as well. Isaiah Williams stepped up big (I love his wing span) and Seasn and AJ also had good games. Loved the defensive intensity early on. Was a little concerned during the Jaspers run that we started settling for jump shots but we regained our composure and secured a big time win. Lots of energy from the crowd too. Enjoy the W fellas and let's get ready for the next one!!!! Lastly, congrats to All-time Iona Great Richie Guerin on your honor tonight. Well deserved and I am glad the Gaels were able to cap it off with a big victory.

Williams had a great all around game. 10 points, 7 rebounds, 3 blocks and 3 steals with 0 turnovers.
Poole also... 19 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks.
Who would have thought that we would have had more blocked shots than Manhattan?

It was a great night to be a Gael! Wonderful to see the students come out and support the team, especially all the vocal ones in the #14 shirts. Manhattan has a much deeper squad; Masiello was substituting freely, and I was worried our guys might run out of steam down the stretch, but bless them, they kept up the defensive intensity until the end. Easily Mike Poole's best game as a Gael and probably his best game at the college level. David Laury was huge tonight, a couple of dunks and 9 for 11 from the free throw line!?! Where has that been all year? Hopefully this game will be a big confidence boost for him and a portent of good things to come. To be able to win against a tenacious Manhattan squad, with Bowman not scoring a point shows our team's versatility. Holding Beamon to just 9 points? That's great "D" guys - he usually gets that in free throws alone. Only 7 turnovers for the game against a good defensive team - very impressive. The one negative of the night for me was seeing Ryden Hines on crutches. Anyone have any info on him?

Just got home (actually about 25 minutes ago). I live about 25 minutes from Iona, but it took me forever to get out of the parking garage. I won't say that TC out coached Masiello, I think Masiello out coached Masiello. Brown kills us offensively AND defensively, and I couldn't believe all the time he was kept on the bench and he wasn't in foul trouble. Also, his substitution pattern seemed crazy to me. It was a revolving door and no one had time to get comfortable. Thanks Mr. Masiello.

I guess those at the game and those watching on TV probably noticed that DL was about three or four inches off the foul line, and for tonight, at least, it made a big difference. Also, nice that we got a top ref, Pat Driscoll, for the game.
