Thank you for a great season. We thoroughly enjoyed the ride from start to finish. Never a dull moment. To our graduating seniors I hope you look fondly on your time representing Iona. You will be missed. Best wishes on completing your degree, graduation and moving on to the next adventure. You did us proud. To Coach Cluess and staff we thank you for your efforts and example. The bar has been set high by your accomplishments. We look forward to next season. Good luck with the off-season and securing your incoming commitments.

As heartbreaking as this loss was for those of us who are fans, I cannot imagine what it must feel like for TC; the staff; and the team (especially the seniors). Hold your heads up, Gaels, you made us all proud of you and proud to be alums and fans of Iona College. A sincere "THANK YOU" to all.
Go Gaels!!!

Super, I feel bad, but I really feel bad for TC and the team. It's like someone hurt a family member of mine (they are our Iona family). I wish there was something I could do to ease the pain they must feel. The sickening feeling I have in the pit of my stomach is not for me, it's for them.
Go Gaels!!!
ETA: I have to try to get some sleep. I's after 1:00 and I have to be in court early tomorrow (today).

I was at the Quinny game where we were getting our ass handed to us and thinking this is going to be a rough year. Then these guys jelled and put together two great months of basketball. They could've folded up the tent, Coaches and players, but they kept competing. Much respect.

Very proud of this team and the staff as well. it took a while to get everyone on the same page but when they did they gave us a great ride. Another tough end to a post season, on the road against a good team that has lost just once at home over the last two years. UGH, some day we are going to get a break and get that favorable matchup and make a lot of noise. Thanks guys especially the seniors we will miss you but remember you will always be GAELS!

One Shining Moment They Reach for theā¦ or so the song goes. Have you ever read Nick Homby's book or saw the film based on the book bearing the same name, Fever Pitch? In it Jimmy Fallon portrayed the ultimate Red Sox fan, how as a youngster his uncle introduced him to the Red Sox and major league baseball which created an obsession and a love story that lasted a lifetime and dominated his life. Correct me if I am wrong, however to me, many Iona fans all have a bit of Fever Pitch in us. The film describes the anticipation building up to each new season, we Iona fans know the same feeling. The promise of the improved returning veterans, the rookies, recruiting and the competition and the hope of making it to the Big Dance and making it past the first round! This year's edition of the Gaels fell a bit short of the Big Dance but gave all of us a wonderful season, one that we can all look back on with pride. Great kids, great effort and a great coaching staff that has proved once again they can compete at the highest levels of basketball. I have been a fan of the Gaels since 1972, played a bit and feel the pain of each loss and look forward to the start of each new season. If you ever played you know, Basketball is a fraternity, if you have ever been close to a program you are part of the fraternity!..... When and where is our first game next year? Go Gaels!

In a way the sentiments of our opponents mean more than our own. If one Dawg fan labels Iona "a damn good team" and another calls our players "warriors" and the Dawg coach says that we were the best offensive team they played all year, what can we add to that? Well done, warrior Gaels!
