Burt Sr. Didn't play point guard his entire Sophomore season either. Apples & Shoelaces.

I think its a fair comparison. Puts AJ in the mix of Iona greats and shows the range of performance he falls/doesn't fall within.

Steve Burtt was an OG, and starting with his sophomore year, Rory Grimes was the PG. When SB was a Freshman, I believe Tony Iati was the PG, after Mike Moses changed his mind (when Valvano left) and enrolled at Florida. At the end of his first year, SB might have played some PG, but should not be considered a "real" PG. At least not in my estimation.

Hard to imagine AJ not being a top 100 scorer, barring any injuries or any major surprises.

Just gives us something to revisit when he is in the Top 20 and say "told you so."

i hope he is not in the top 20, we have 3 players capable of scoring, and aj shoots the worst %, I would rather Laury be the first option, the offense should flow through him back to the outside and we have better options from the outside

This won't be a 1 man show. Spread the wealth.

Would love 4 or 5 players with double digit averages.

ESPN doing a countdown on the top 100 college basketball players and they are down to their top 39 without any mention of AJ English. Is it possible that he will be omitted all together even though Antoine Mason is on the list at #68? Amazing how individual talent is valued by some writers. I am hoping he gets some love in the remaining 39. If not then AJ show them how they made a terrible mistake.

AJ might be the next, but DL already is the next great player. Certainly our MIP.

ESPN's college player countdown 39-20 has no AJ English. Looks like a "chip has been placed on his shoulder" as I am not expecting him to be in the top 20 players.
