People asked me when they saw the pic of Robin Williams on Happy Days in front of the Iona pennant, was their an Iona connection to Happy Days? Does anyone know why we had a pennant there?

I recall that someone on the productions staff of Happy Days was an Iona Prep person.

I heard that Gary Marshall, Director (I believe) of Happy Days attended the Prep, but I'm not sure.

I heard that Gary Marshall, Director (I believe) of Happy Days attended the Prep, but I'm not sure. I don't know why it happened that way but he did not go to Iona Prep: Marshall was born in the New York City borough of The Bronx, the son of Marjorie Irene (née Ward), a tap dance teacher who ran a tap dance school, and the late Anthony Wallace Marshall (1906–99), a director of industrial films and later a producer.[2] He is the brother of actress/director Penny Marshall and Ronny Marshall Hallin, a TV producer. His father was of Italian descent, his family having come from San Martino sulla Marrucina, Chieti, Abruzzo,[3] and his mother was of English and Scottish ancestry;[4][5] His father changed his last name from "Masciarelli" to "Marshall" before Garry was born.[6] Marshall was baptized Presbyterian and also raised Lutheran for a time.[7] He attended De Witt Clinton High School, where he was a classmate of Spiderman artist Steve Ditko, and Northwestern University, where he wrote a sports column for The Daily Northwestern, and is a member of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.

I think it may have been that Marshall's son went to Iona/Iona Prep. Just speculation though

I used to know the answer to this, but time and the passing of the years has gotten the better of my memory. For some reason two possibilities are rattling around my brain. The first was someone from Iona sent them a banner and asked them to put it up and the second is that someone from Iona was on a studio tour and brought the banner with them. I am not sure if the names Flo or Mark help spur anyone's recollections. i also believe that someone who worked at the old Bookstore was the person behind getting the banner on the wall - and in a most prominent place.
