Remind Vangelis (is that what he's called?) that the Greek Festival is taking place, this weekend, at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox church. You probably know, but if not, it's located at the north end of North Avenue. A chance for him to get some excellent Greek food. At least it's excellent, in the opinion of this non-native, as a native, he might feel differently, though I'm sure he'll think it's a BIG step up over 'college' food. Do any of you younger (much younger) guys know how the food at Iona rates? Since I'll be there picking up some gyros, patestio (Sp?), and baklava, I'll be on the look out for a tall young man.

He should go to the feast of St. Gennaro in little Italy too. Great food, fun and games. Played craps in the basement of a church there once as part of a fundraiser. Still the only time I've ever heard "Roll the dice Father."
Guy, you may be right, but keep in mind that the people who cook the food for the festival, are of Greek decent. My wife is Italian, and she is a great cook especially of Italian food, as was her mother and grandmother. And believe me if a kid from Italy ate their Italian food, he/she wouldn't throw up in their mouth. I've been to Italy and their food (Italian restaurants) is not much better than the Italian restaurants in NYC. As for comparing the Greek festival to the San Gennaro festival, is comparing apples to oranges. One is about a mile away, and maybe on the same street where he lives, and the other is about 25 miles and about two hours away. And at San Gennaro you'll end up with sausage and peppers. Bring your family to the Greek festival and try the food, I think you'll like it.

I wouldn't count on a response from youngguns regarding the food at Iona, it appears he's taken the blood oath!

How about inviting him to your place for Italian to save on the commute?
I was at the Festival, tonight, there was a bigger than usual crowd, probably caused by the weather forecast for tomorrow night. I didn't see Vangelis, but the Iona van showed up and a bunch of kids jumped out. But not one fit his description. Food was great as usual.

IC59 you will be happy to know Bebis was there. The new Iona asst just tweeted that.
