I thought this was going to be a good year, with a couple of All Americans? on the team. What's happened so far? Not playing like a team?

I am surprised that the girls haven't fared better...this was supposed to be a nationally ranked team...still early enough to turn it around ..but I am surprised

The women's team finished 18-2 in MAAC games last year. If they play similarly within conference they finish with 20+ wins, pretty respectable. Like the men's team they will likely need to win MAAC Tournament to reach NCAA's. The preseason thoughts of a nationally ranked team I think were pretty lofty, but high goals are always good. Hopefully the new year brings consistent play and good health for both teams. GO GAELS!

They were only picked third in the MAAC. I didn't hear any talk of national rankings during the preseason.

I was at the Women's game on Friday and even though they won, they seem to be lacking an inside presence. Marina Lizerazu showed off some very entertaining moves that were highlight reel worthy, and when you add her to Damika, Joy and Alleyah, it gives Coach Godsey a solid foundation to build around. However, in order to win the MAAC they'll have to get better post play. And it would help if they get some of their injured players back.

Whatever struggles the Women's team went through in December seems to be paying off now that the MAAC season has started. Rolling already and up 39-14 at the half over St. Peters.

I was at yesterday's game, and imo, we didn't play well. SPU was terrible, and our bench did get a lot of PT. Damika was high scorer with 14 points. And Keyandra DuPre (Sp?) had her best game with four threes. But overall we were sloppy. JMO.

There's been a lot written/speculated about IW's injury, but last Friday in a game in Buffalo (Niagara), the Women's PG, Marina Lizerazu, like IW the third best player on the team, imo, was injured and didn't play on Sunday against Canisius. Is there any news on how long she'll be out? The Women play at FF tomorrow and have Marist at home on Saturday.
