Eli Carter is probably a better fit for the Jaspers.

Sterling Gibbs leaving Seton Hall. Eligible immediately. Hmm I hope you're not serious, as he's obviously headed to major conference program with Notre Dame and Pittsburgh being the early favorites.

An expression of interest in a potential transfer should not be confused with a belief that he's likely to land here. Then again, nothing ventured nothing gained.

HOOPS HAVEN SAYS: The obsession with Iona is mystifying. Sterling Gibbs would put-up video game numbers in that system, against their schedule. No way two Iona player should have been first team over him.Maybe this guy gets his wish! ![:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/grin.png)

I doubt that ND would take him after the Nova incident. They also have Demetrius Jackson returning as the starting PG. Gibbs does not want to be seen as just an insurance policy for ND. Jerian Grant is leaving so that opens up a spot at SG but ND has Steve Vasturia returning and TOP 100 SG Rex Pflueger joining the team... as well as Matt Ryan. Pitt might be possible but I do not see him unseating TOP 100 recruit, senior James Robinson who is a better floor general from an assist to turnover ratio perspective. They also have recruit Cameron Wright (Top 100) joining them next season. With Cameron Wright graduating they could always slide him into the SG position. Could be a great fit for Manhattan.

Gibbs is not going to drop down to the MAAC. He is headed for a major program, and can easily play alongside Jackson at Notre Dame. The Irish are interested in Gibbs, especially since they'd like to land his brother the following year.

While I agree he is headed to a Major program, coming to Iona is in no way a "drop down" from Seton Hall.

I doubt he will drop down a level either but I do not expect for Gibbs to split time at the 2 with Steve Vasturia, who can not only shoot, but is ND's best perimeter defender. UCONN could also be a landing spot for him and they are also interested in his brother. They lose Boatright and Gibbs could step right into his role. Either way, his recruitment should be interesting to watch as many schools will be jumping into the mix.

Willard needs a huge year It will not happen unless he lands a top JUCO or a graduate transfer PG. Carington and Whitehead hate to pass the ball and when they do they only pass to each other. Willard lost this team when he refused to appoint team captains and went with game day captains. Willard's refusal to control his highly rated freshman class and his desire to not bruise Whitehead's fragile ego, will be his undoing.
