I spent yesterday in a deep sadden mood which was worsened when reviewing the open subject board, I failed to find one message honoring Veterans Day...This along with the actions of college students further strengthened my growing belief that we are as a country in deep trouble..... If tears fill the graves of the thousands and thousands who lay buried in a lonesome burial site somewhere far from home, they flow because of the selfish ungrateful spoiled attitude that prevails today...... What has the country I love and if necessary given my life for become.?....

OT, not to worry. I got a telephone call from my oldest granddaughter (14 years old) wishing me, "Happy Veterans Day"). It made my day.

\\\\ OT, not to worry. I got a telephone call from my oldest granddaughter (14 years old) wishing me, "Happy Veterans >:DDay"). It made my day. I also got calls from my 5 grandchildren ages 11 to 28...It also helped my despondent mood, but that and the upcoming game with Valpo could not brighten the realistic concerns.......Some will say ''I worry to much''..... BUT.....I have not lived over 90 years of age without the knowledge and teachings of history's warnings and human natures impulse to ignore them...The last time we did it led to 60-70 million deaths and untold suffering... `

December 7th 1941 President Roosevelt addressed the nation to declare war on Japan after the Pear Harbor attack in which aprox. 3000 young service men lost their lives...His speech inspired the entire nation as he declared it a ''Day that will live in infamy''
Not by members of this board as again a day of remembering passes by without notice........HAVE WE NO SHAME........

OT, a couple of things:
1. First, the President said a date (not a day) that will live in infamy. 2. Second, there are MANY OTHER boards, that people who post on this board, primarily about Iona BB, might have posted about December 7th.
I'll close by referencing the bible. "Let he who is w/o sin cast the first stone".

I remembered it by watching the History Channel two hour program about it last night. And then told my son about it. So I got that going for me, which is nice.

Fellows......There is no doubt that I come from a generation gap that will be impossible to overcome or understood...I am deeply sorry if my posts offend...
I will always remember those bodies recovered in a far away hillside and the constant reminder that they did not have the opportunity to enjoy as I did 70+ more years of life...
Those lifeless eyes, and mangled bodies will haunt me forever...
