SLG, I assume that you are a Rams fan, and want to let you know that I feel bad for the fans and the city. It just doesn't seem right that a guy named after two St. Louis legends, Enos Slaughter and Stan Musial, would be the one to move the team out of town.
And speaking of condolences, I'm assuming that the Oldtimer was a fan of Monte Irvin, who just died at age 96. Monte started with the NYG at the age of 30 and was a great hitter, and a fair fielder. It didn't hurt that he played alongside Willie Mays. I believe that OT was a NYG fan.

You scared the c**p out of me with the title of this thread. I had to pinch myself to make sure I am still here.
I have been to one Rams game in the 21 years that they were in St. Louis, but, yeah, I did follow them. That was one of the most dishonest and disingenuous exercises I have ever seen. The NFL played St. Louis so they could paper over their relocation guidelines. The day Kroenke bought the Rams is the day he decided to move them to LA. Kroenke has a significant list of business partners who have dragged his but into court. I would caution Mr. Spanos to move into that Kroenke palace with his eyes wide open. I plan to return to my roots, and renew my affinity for the Jets.
Maybe you can convince Robert LaPenta to buy the 66,000 seat dome, and move it to New Rochelle as the new home of the Gaels. I did go to the North Carolina/Illinois NCAA Final at the Dome several years back. Pretty good basketball arena, and it can be had for steep discount.

SLG, as a long suffering Jets fan, welcome back. PS Condolences on your decision to return
[59.......Monte was a hell of a ballplayer...To bad he got a late start in his career......He had been with the Giants only a short time when I with 3 other fellows first met him...He was getting into his car in the players parking lot located in the rear of the Polo Grounds right along side the Harlem River...He was most cordial, and we chatted for about 10-15 minutes...I was surprised when we next met him, he remembered my first name...We rooted even harder for him after that...
As for St. Louis...Fans are not entirely blame less...I at this time would not base or own a team in that City or surrounding area with the Political and crime conditions that currently ensue...
I have a fondness of St. Louis teams past...The old 'Gas house Gang'' played as hard as any team I remember...Every time they came to NYC, we made it a point to see them bandages and all...
Leave you with as Frankie Frisch used to say ''Oh those bases on balls''...
This is for OT, a little history lesson about the Parkway Oval in Tuckahoe, and I just found this information, yesterday in my history book (Out of the Wilderness) about the town of Eastchester. In 1899, even before OT, there was a Championship (Bantam weight) fight held at the Parkway Oval. The fight was won by Brooklyn's Terrible Terry McGovern, who I believe knocked out the British champion, Pedlar Palmer. Crowd was estimated at between 10,000 and 15,000.
