Ali was at Iona on 07/29/1968. I think Robert Kennedy appeared on CamPus during his Senate run in 1964 where his opponent on the Conservative line was an Iona Professor. I also found evidence that JFK was given an honorary degree from Iona in 1957. Here is part of JFK's speech:  |

I was at the Ali event. An Iona student - I think his name was Brennan - was a Golden Glove Champ in one of the lighter classifications. He and Ali put on a little sparring display. I was amazed at the speed of Ali's hands.

I was there also on the steps of Spellman.
I believe a part of this event was included in an Ali documentary--don't know which one.

Tommy Brennan, I believe. A Golden Gloves fighter, when GG mattered. He was VG.
