For those interested, they will be televised on ESPN 3 starting at 7:50 AM, this morning. The Men's race is scheduled for 8AM and the Women for 8:45 AM. I can't understand why there isn't an article about the races on the Official Iona site, but hopefully SID will have something posted after the race. Good luck to all the Iona runners.

Number #26 in a row. Congrats to Ricardo and his staff and all the Iona runners. Top eight finishers were all Gaels, with Kieran Clements the individual winner. First time I got to see a closeup of a X-C race as ESPN did a great job covering the race. Top seven runners were all bunched together, and it looked to me that any one of them could have been the individual winner. Women start in about ten minutes.

I couldn't wait around for the official results, but I'm pretty sure that the Iona Women won. Teghan was ahead for just about all of the race, but faltered down the stretch and was caught by a Canisius runner about 40 yards from the finish. And with 10 yards (about) to go, she fell, but was able to get up and stumble to the finish line in fourth place. The announcers described it as, "The joy of victory and the agony of defeat". Rachel Garn finsished third and we had another runner in eighth or nineth place. The defending champ, Quinnipiac had four top ten finishers, but all behind Teghan. A quick glance showed four Iona women from 11-20, but these results were not official. As I said I'm pretty sure Iona won.

Official results: 1. Iona 49 points 2. Quinnipiac 51 points
Teghan's gutty finish was the difference between a win and a tie, as a Quinny runner was in fifth place. If they switched positions, score would have been, 50-50, and I don't know if they declare co-champions.

Congrats on 26 in a row in one of the most dominant performances ever with the top eight finishers. Outstanding! And the women take back their championship also. Great day!

Anybody able to access Regional results? So far all I see is top 6 teams in Women's division. No individual results and no Men's results yet.

2nd place. Impressive performance. Even more impressive was Syracuse, who had 5 of the to 10 finishers, including 2 guys that beat Clements by a couple of seconds. On to the the NCAA finals! Women finish am impressive 9th in a field of 37 teams. Top finisher Teghan Henderson in 12th at 20:50.

Team left for the Nationals, yesterday. Doesn't look like that Gilbert Kiruli will be a go as he's still having leg problems. All the best to Rick and the team.

I was at the viewing party and I loved the enthusiasm of the students who were also watching. I believe most were members of the track team, and every time an Iona runner was shown or Iona was mentioned the crowd erupted. It was great to be there.
