My wife and I went to a great Don McLean concert at a sold out Emelin theatre in Mamaroneck, last night, and it was great. Don sang w/o an intermission for two hours. Both oldies, newbies and Christmas songs. He's coming out with a new album/dvd (Botanical Gardens) in a couple of months and sang some of the songs from that. Loved listening to his stories of growing up in New Ro and his time at Iona Prep and College. I didn't know that his mother was Italian (Bucci), one of ten children, and his father Scotish.Six cousins, mother's side was in the audience. He was in the Puplic School system, MS, probably Albert Leonard, when a student knocked out a science teacher, and he decided that maybe Iona Prep was a better option. There it was the teachers beating the crap out of the students (drew loud applause) and not the other way around. Said his degree from IC was in Finance and Philosophy, which he described as a strange combination. Also spoke about Premium Pointe, John Emelin, whose family started the Emelin Theatre and Tommy Manville. For much of the evening he had his mostly grey headed audience on their feet and singing along, especially when he performed American Pie. I left the concert feeling that I got to listen to a great performer, who even at 71 still has it.

I think she beat him. Divorced after 30 years, with a $10M settlement.

I think Don would have gotten his share of rebounds yesterday vs. Niagara.
