Jack Rudin passed away over the weekend. Mr. Rudin, who along with his brother, Lewis, was a leading New York developer and philanthropist. He did so much for Iona (during the Driscoll years), many charities and for New York City (New York City Marathon, etc.). A very nice man and very loyal to Iona. May he rest in peace.

Oddly enough I know the Rudin family through their connection with the NY Road Runners. The family has been involved since the 70's. Their father Sam was an avid distance runner and they named the trophy for the winner of the marathon after him. They have sponsored the marathon ever since. I was unaware of the Iona connection. Rest in Peace.

Working for the Telephone Company, I coordinated their move into their 345 Park Ave. building. Jack was more involved, at least it seemed that way, with the business and Lew with the Arts. I had to meet with Lew at his 5th Avenue apartment, back in the seventies to 'advise' him on his phone system. Both were nice people, and Jack was at Brother Driscoll's funeral mass at Holy Family. May he RIP.
