A friend of mine was looking for a great burger in Westchester. As my memory served, the Piper's Kilt in Eastchester had a good one.
Any other suggestions?

Gordy's in Chester Heights has a very good burger along with excellent ''Pub'' style food.especially soups....Been in business for years and years at same spot.....Only less then half a mile from my new home the ''Sun Rise'' assisted living facility....For years after golf, it was our stopping point....Worth a try...

I forgot all about Gordy's. The only thing is be careful. The wife and I learned the hard way that they can over-cook a burger. A medium-well becomes well-done and well-done becomes a hockey puck

Thanks Chelseadal!
I can't believe Bella's in Tarrytown got 4 stars. That place is pretty filthy inside.

For slightly less ambience, there's Shake Shack in the Cross County Shopping Center and Greasy Nicks (April-Oct) on Pelham Rd in New Rochelle.
The best burger with fried onions you'll ever eat.

cjb.......My dad was known as greasy Nick...We once owned a seafood an steak restaurant in New Rochelle around 1947...He was one tough individual...Strong as a ox...
He spent 21 years as Police Officer from 1925 to 1946...He was then know also as ''Mag''...After I returned from service in the Marine Corp after WW2, we opened and shared the business...We were very successful...But after a couple of years I discovered he was hitting the til to support a Horse Racing habit...I immediately left and joined the Police Dept...During that time I had learned to cook.....This served me well as throughout my Police career I conducted dozen and dozens large City wide Picnic gatherings for Senior citizen, Police Functions etc...
I have mixed feelings about my Dad. the years went by I appreciated his teachings that at times life was good, but that you had to learn to deal with the fact that it was not always meant to be ''A bucket of Roses''
He sold the business to the Leno brothers whose family I believe still own the business to this day...
He died in 1969 two days after a cancer operation....

cjb......Same place, same building except for paint job....My father never believed in fancy trimmings...He often said ''people come here for the food, not for the fancy wallpaper...''!!!!!!!
