Point is nothing is certain. I hope QU sees the light and gives the job to Grasso, but it's not a lock.

Always hard in any business to hire an assistant when viable #1s are available, particularly when there's a defined short term agenda. Not fair-- but true.
That being said, Grasso deserves it.

Top notch facilities, admin support and you can win right away.

Where do u get 500k, the ladt coach was makibg 225 k Tom Moore made $447K as of 2013, and their school president is on the record stating that they are willing to pay top dollar for the next coach, and they have Big East ambitions. www.nycbuckets.com/head-coach-contract-tracker/

Reports I found have said Moore signed a 5 year deal worth $1.5 million when hired in 2007. NYC buckets reported that Moore's compensation was 450K back in 2013. Qpac's president and AD Amodio, with the right coach, can win big and actually move up to a higher level conference in the future. Delusional? maybe. But they are willing to put the money up, as shown by eating 2 years of Moore's contract. They are also willing to pay 500K to their next coach according to CT writers that cover the program.

Does anyone think the quinny job is a step up from Winthrop, Yale, UVM or even Albany. I dont...that leaves Grasso vs Burrell and Rice Matt Kingsley (Yale)- about 40 years old (Guess???) Kingsley is an assistant who can recruit. He would make a lot more money and have the ability to recruit using scholarships compared to grant money at an Ivy. An example is Sydney Johnson who left a head coaching job at Princeton to take the Fairfield job and he doubled his salary in the process. Will Brown (Albany)- 45 years old....makes $350,000 + a car allowance.. Tom Moore made over $450,000 a year at Quinnipiac. Brown could negotiate up to the $500,000 mark as he is a proven winner. Quinny has better facilities to recruit with. John Becker (UV)- 48 years old....made about $240,000 this year. UV is upgrading their facilities but that is scheduled for completion in 2022. So yes... all of these folks would get major upgrades in salary. They would also get better facilities to use for recruiting. If Brown and Becker are going to make moves now is the time in their careers.

Hey, how much did Moore make at Quinny? ;-)
I THINK QS was talking more about conference affiliation than salary. I know Quinny has big dreams, but they are an eternity away from jumping up in conference, and the roof of a MAAC program is only a little higher than that of an AE team.
