We all know of the unique experience of reading instructions written by someone whose first language is not English.
Many years ago I bought a Braun electric razor. I was excited about using it (those Germans know their engineering!) and eagerly opened up the instructions:
"MAKE YOUR FACE INTO A PLANE"
I briefly weighed the expense and extreme discomfort of renting a steamroller when I realized that the face only had to be flat LOCALLY. What a relief! Perhaps the Germans saved a few bucks by hiring an Asian to write this stuff up?
Forgive me. The basketball season is over and I'm trying to make my face into a smile.

qs, it made me chuckle. And, b/t/w, when I arrived (The Army) in Germany in 1960, or as I tell my granddaughters, D-Day +16, I bought a Braun electric razor. But, if memory serves me right, all the instructions were in German.
