Just read that the Cardinal Hayes big man, Tobe Awaka, has committed to Tennessee. I'm shocked, shocked that he didn't choose Iona.

86, what can you tell us about the Nike Tournament? Where and when it was played. How many teams? Were Ayo and Silas on the same team? Thanks, and any info will be appreciated.

86, what can you tell us about the Nike Tournament? Where and when it was played. How many teams? Were Ayo and Silas on the same team? Thanks, and any info will be appreciated. 1) Played at Eagles Academy 171-10 Linden Blvd. Queens and at IS8 Gym at 108-35 167th Street, Jamaica. 2) Played between /15 and 5/21. 3) 18 teams 4) Yes, they were on the same team. 5) It has been around in some format for close to 40 years. NBA players who have come through the IS8 include: Ron Artest , Sebastian Telfair , Allen Ray, Ben Gordon, Elton Brand, Rafer Alston, Stephon Marbury, Troy Murphy, Lamar Odom, Smush Parker and Lebron James... to name a few. It attracts a lot of talent as it is usually the last big tournament these players get to play in before leaving for their college teams.

86, thanks for all the info. Quite an accomplishment for Ayo and Silas. You are welcome. I am sure it is especially sweet after these kids dealt with 2 years worth of Covid lockdowns and game cancellations.

Mentioned this on Twitter a week ago, and yes currently pushing on Twitter. This young man would be a great late add. Perfect fit for Pitino system. Adding him to current young backcourt would be great. Really hope he's the recruit RP was talking about that he was working out.

Eric Dailey Jr - 6'7" SF out of IMG Academy. Rated as a consensus 4★ recruit and Top 50 recruit. Ranked 34th in his class by ESPN and Rivals, and 25th by 247. His dad (eric Sr.) was a very good player at Western Carolina and TCU and had a 10-year pro career around the globe. His mom played at U of Texas star and was n assistant coach in the WNBA (San Antonio Silver Stars). His mom also coached at Florida, Texas A&M, South Carolina and Texas Christian. She is now the Director of Girls Basketball and Head Coach at IMG Academy. Boasts a 3.5 GPA and is on his school’s honor roll. Participated at multiple USA Basketball Men's Junior National Team minicamps. He can play any position on the court. He averaged 18 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals per game last season. He has also been approached by FC Barcelona to play for two years in the Euroleague and then jump to the NBA. Offers: Alabama, Florida, Florida A&M, Iowa State, Michigan, Miami, Texas A&M, Tennessee, TCU. Interest: Auburn, Florida State. ND, Purdue, Texas, Kentucky, Virginia Tech, South Carolina, and Wake Forest. Scouting Reports:"The sophomore found a good zone on the offensive end of the floor in his team’s win over Fort Myers. He was 8-9 from the floor, including 4-5 from three en route to team-high 20-points. He did it just 15 minutes of action. Dailey is a Swiss Army knife kind of offensive weapon and he scored from all three levels. We’re seeing a constant improvement in his game and on this particular night, the Florida native was the go-to guy for the Ascenders." Justin Young, Hoop Seen, CITY OF PALMS: IMG, MONTVERDE SET THE BAR, December 20, 2019 "IMG Academy junior forward Eric Dailey is a tough dude to defend. The 6-foot-6 lefty is a true inside-outside guy with a versatile skill set. It is easy to see why a number of schools have been in to see him already. " - Justin Young, Hoop Seen, SUNSHINE STATE PRESEASON CLASSIC: FRIDAY ACTION, November 23, 2019 "My trip down to IMG Academy for our Florida Jam gave me a name that I am sure to be writing about in the future by the name of Eric Dailey. Midway through a 17U game, I wondered who this 6’6 do it all prospect was that I hadn’t seen or heard of up until that point. He was the best player on the court. Easily. Is wasn’t until the last few minutes of the game that I found out this same kid that was dominating a bunch of rising seniors was only 14 years old. Growth, maturity, and the situation are all things that make projecting young prospects difficult to do. Despite all of this, Eric Dailey has a chance to garner national attention in the 2022 class should he stay his current course" - Tai Young, Hoop Seen, A LOOK BACK AT HOOPSEEN'S 17-18 TRAVEL SEASON, August 29, 2018 Bumping this as he's now Class of 2023 and we are possibly in his final 8.
