Mets now a disaster...They have lost their last 6 games all played in their home grounds....This has not occured in baseball ages....Their lineup and the way they are playing reflects todays society...The slightest injury is cause for ''TIME OUTS''...I remember well the old 'Gas house gang'' the ST.LOUIS CARDS who took the field bandaged from head to toe but still managed to be highly competitive...I also remember pitchers going 18 innings in a tie game and refusing to leave the mound for the 19th.... Today 100 pitches is the limit allowed even if he has a 'No hitter' going....I even remember a couple who pitched double headers....
They need a manager who is extremly tough, 'Take no Crap' type'' in the form of Leo DeRocher or John McGraw and not todays pampering type.....I would also like to see performance contracts...Boy would the injury list go down....

AND....Does anyone remember attending a 6 day bicycle race...You could enter and watch as long as you wanted the bike racing which took 6 days...It was of course a team event....
And does anyone remember the jump ball after every basket made.......
