We need Cluess desperately. Otherwise this season is indeed a throwaway.
Also, aside from missing Cluess, what an absolute shit show with the scheduling. Total fuckup.

Fewest games played in all of Division 1. (mentioned a few times by announcers) Trip all the way to Colorado last week of December for one game. (They arrive Friday for only one full day to get accustomed to altitude.) Recall that this game almost didn't happen--finalized in October. Really looking forward to seeing the spread on this game and most likely siding with the Gaels. First time in a while I have seen this board so unoptimistic regarding Iona's chances, which means I would not be surprised to see a close game. I've watched multiple Colorado games this year - are they good? yes. Are they beatable? yes. If Iona can put together a complete 40 minutes, I think a lot of people on here will be very surprised to see a close, exciting ball game. Woof. |

This Iona team is a long long way from being competitive against a quality opponent especially on the road. Lack of athleticism as in years past this team will struggle in the MAAC. Give me Colorado -27.5 Well done. |

This is the first time since Ruland's last year that I believe the team totally gave up. Lots of one on one play. Almost no passes before shots. Token defense.
Not sure who is ready to be a team leader. Based on his popularity on the city courts could it be IW? So far, it seems, the big three - Agee, EJ and Gist haven't successfully owned the leadership role.

You would like to think the team would go all out for him or at least play hard in honor of TC. If this team fails in the MAAC it is almost totally on the players. They have the individual talents. Most have the experience. But it appears they lack the discipline and the drive. |
