One issue I have. We were down 2 with the ball, and 30 seconds on the clock. Should be last possession of regulation one way or the other. We should take our last shot with about 5 seconds(for the win) with a chance for a possible offensive put back(for the tie and OT). instead Crawford is in traffic under the hoop, with 10 seconds and gets fouled. Forces us to the line and gives Siena time to get down the court for the win. (which they did)

Iona trailed by 2, you can't wait that long to try to score because if you come up empty you have to have enough time to foul.

If you come up empty, then your down by 2 , and sending Siena to the line shooting two. chances of winning that is > 2% imo. Taking a three, down by 2 with 5secs left gives you about a 35% chance of winning

Great effort by the Gaels! They were not expected to be very competitive in this road game and lost by one. I feel very good about Iona heading to the tournament. I doubt I'm alone.

Siena didn't make a FG in the last 7 minutes. Very lucky to win. Let's move on. Announcers predicted Iona/Siena final in AC. I'll take my chances with that.

We needed to win in regulation. Though there is a .00000000001% chance we would have hit a game winning 3, even if Curry was shooting it for us.

Unable to watch the final 7 mins as I had to pick up my daughter.
Is it worth watching the replay or will it send my blood pressure to the moon?

Only got to watch the last 11 minutes of the game, and I came away impressed with our effort. Siena is a good team, but not so good away from the TUC. If we play them in AC, and have Van Eyck, Gist and Niko back, I like our chances. From the boxscore I see we were down 12 at the half. Kudos to Coach Arnold for "our" 2nd half performance.

Defensive energy better in the second half and got us back into it. Shooting percentages at the half were 52% for Siena and 39% for Iona. Game ended Siena at 41% and Iona at 45%. We just got smacked on the offensive glass--which wouldn't have happened had Van Eyck been healthy.
On to Rider.

I had a chance to watch the final 7 minutes.
We caught a break with about 5 to go. Agee could of easily been called for a charge. Thought we got screwed when EJ was called for traveling. Cleary Pickett body checked him.
Don’t think you can really blame Mo with 1:12 to go with the slipped rebound. Two other Iona players had their hands on the ball and obviously they all failed to say “same”.
Hard to blame Risto at the end. It looked like Burns made a really good play.
Puzzled that Arnold called his last timeout with 2.3 secs to go before Burns first foul shot. Needed to keep that in his back pocket assuming Burns misses his second foul shot. This would of at least given us a chance to get a shot off from around the three point line.
On a neutral court with Gist, Dutch, and Risto, I believe we can handle Siena.

On a neutral court with Gist, Dutch, and Risto, I believe we can handle Siena. Think we proved tonight that we can beat Siena on any court if we have at least one or two of our injured back. Not positive but I think Siena's only road win was at Iona when we were struggling to find our identity. Did not see the game live. And did not read the board prior to viewing the replay. Within minutes it was obvious we were getting reffed as the stripers were reacting to the home crowd. The non-calls were even worse than the bad calls. I'm very proud of of the gut and grit of our men of steel who took to the court Wednesday.

My gut feeling is that the third time, on a neutral court, will be the charm. I hope we are fortunate enough to make it to the MAAC final and play Siena.

Don't think Siena will make it to the finals. They have not played well away from the TUC.
