Quick note: there IS going to be plenty of backlash nationwide for this hire. Yes, it could blow up in our faces. But you HAVE to make this move if you're Iona. You have to take the chance. And if it blows up, it blows up. We live in a world where the worst is expected and the best goes unappreciated. Maybe, just maybe, the things you read from agenda-driven folks such as Pat Forde will blow up in their faces if Pitino comes here, wins, and his past does not haunt him or us. Time will tell. But I am 100% on board. You all cry that you want Iona basketball to be bigger. Well, here's our chance.

Good, we could use some actual knowledgeable basketball fans for a change.. as compared to us idiots

Might even see a surge in Iona sports gear sales (hats, shirts, sweatshirts etc).

Opportunities we will now have with Pitino here:
Quality games at the garden and Barclay Higher rated recruits A game or two on ESPN, maybe even a network like fox Sell outs at Hynes A few high end mid major games at Hynes Scores actually mentioned on radio N.Y. post coverage Playing in some quality tournaments like in Orlando Good enough ooc to have a chance at an at large A better defensive team which will make it easier to win an ncaa game Maybe just maybe an opportunity to join the a10
With all of the above it’s impossible to not take this opportunity despite the baggage that comes with it. This is an exciting time for Iona basketball!

I agree with everything but going to the A10 if he was younger maybe, our 2500 seat arena won't provide enough revenue for the extra traveling of the other sports in my opinion

A. Pitino will make us a major force . B. Put us on the map again & we’ll get majors to come play us @ Hynes now. Everyone be ecstatic. C. Humongous things to come. We will battle on the recruiting trail for sure Rick has the tools to get them to play for him. Expect Huge things in New Rochelle, New York!!! No not the coronavirus lol I have a room reserved in the newly expanded and reinforced Ledge for this poster - heavily padded. Just not sure he will show up voluntarily.

Agree with staying in MAAC as long as we can rid ourselves of Ensor. His attitude toward Iona will not play well especially now!

Agree. Moving up is not an option. Happy and proud to be in the Maac, it's where we belong. Maybe we can get a few other schools to create the Metro Conference. Forget Niagara and Canisius etc.

From Br. Loftus to Rick Petino. We've come a long, long way.
