The effort and professionalism are greatly appreciated, Guy. Really fantastic! From your highlights I see some good problems to have for Coach Pitino and staff. Who gets minutes when so many are capable? The players will fight it out and then the coaches will figure it out, I'm sure. An aside: I can't come up with a phonetic spelling for Appalachian but it is mispronounced.

Guy, I'm sure that you are all over this. But?? I just noticed on Youtube that your Sunday night video has 200 views - a little over 36 hours after upload. We have 702 members on this Board. I'm surprised that we are not at least at 60% membership viewing at this stage, given the build up to this team. Of the 200, several are multiple views - I am. I can see how you have been wrestling with reach.

I can see how you have been wrestling with reach. One thing to note is that of those 702 members, probably only 100 or so are actually "active" out here. It also should be noted that the board is free to view without registering, you only need to register in order to post. I think 200 views just a couple days in is fantastic, and the benefit of video, particularly exclusive video. I don't think my typical episodes will get that sort of action moving forward, but it's a nice number to hit. For comparative purposes, I haven't had an AUDIO episode hit 200 listens since Casey's first visit to the pod last September. And this one is at 200 after just a couple days. All told, this should make a run at the all-time leading episode for listens, which is when I had Brandon Goble from JUCO Advocate on (episode 2). That ep got 350+ listens, partly because it's been around a long time and partly because Brandon has a huge social media following. But yes, the exclusive aspects of this episode--the Pitino audio, the scrimmage video--pretty much guaranteed the clicks.

I’ve been on this board for 20 years but rarely sign in read or comment. Believe it or it I discovered the podcast on Apple while searching some key words. I added the show to my library and listen when I’m in the car. Can’t do that on YouTube. I listen to other podcasts that also moved to video format but they never abandoned the audio version which is great for people like me in the car. If I were you I would still release the audio of the podcast because there’s nothing happening in the YouTube video that can’t be listened to only…with the exception of the scrimmage highlights you took. But that shouldn’t be the only reason you keep it YouTube only. Is it a podcast? Or is it sportscenter?

The views/listens are considerably higher for the last 2 episodes than they were on average for the audio podcasts. Time will tell as we get into the season to see if it was truly the right move. Youtube has an app on your phone--you very much can still just "listen" to the video podcast, with exceptions as you said of when I'm showing highlights, which won't be a normal thing. I've gone onto the Youtube app in my car and listened to stuff many times. That said, you are correct that it's entirely possible to just take the audio of the video podcast and share them on Apple, Spotify and Anchor as I was doing before. The audio quality will not be quite as good, but yes, for those who preferred the audio version, they have an option nonetheless.

Gaeloarsman, thank you for the recommendation to continue to use the audio platforms. I put the two video eps onto the audio platforms yesterday and each episode has already had 20+ listeners. I can't imagine any circumstance where a person who watched the video eps would again listen to the audio ones, so I am assuming those are all regular audio listeners who were lost in the move to video.
That said, the video episodes were both far more successful than almost all audio episodes done in the past 10 months, particularly the scrimmage ep. But lesson learned--we will carry on in BOTH formats!

Are you going to discuss frogs? I can make references to teams leapfrogging others in standings or players leapfrogging others in the rotation, if you like.
