Guy, just listened to your Podcast and enjoyed it. I was very impressed with the classy way you spoke about last year's team, and especially Oz. Thank you. My only disappointment was the timing of the show, as I'm expecting/hoping for some good recruiting news from this weekend's visits and thought you might have waited until after the weekend. But, in thinking about it, you made it sound like there is no GREAT time to podcast as announcements can come at any time. So, I feel better already. Thank you.

It's also why I didn't talk specifically about visits or anything like that--because the episode can be outdated a day after it drops if I did that. If I covered recruiting the way it SHOULD be covered, I'd literally have to drop an episode every other day, and quite frankly I don't have the listenership for that sort of effort. |

Guy, just listened and something you said triggered a question, or rather something you said that you wouldn't be covering, and that was our OOC games. And that made so much sense as we are paying most attention to recruiting. To cut to the chase, this is a proposal to run by TA, when you have him on the Podcast. And this really applies to all schools, hence I think it has the potential to be brought to the NCAA, assuming you (and other Board members agree), along with the MAAC.
With the new rules covering college BB, and seeing the roster turnover we've (along with most schools) have had to deal with, I feel that there should be changes covering PS games. Remember, a few years back, the team travelled to Europe, and it seemed like a good idea. Hoped we could do it every year, but was reminded that could only happen once every so many years (four or five). That USED to make sense, but not TODAY. And it doesn't have to be Europe, with Canada making better financial sense. A three or four game trip would give teams a chance to get to know and play together, as new rosters seem to be a way of life. And if teams don't want to travel then be able to play a couple of exhibitions in addition to two secret scrimmages.
Bottom line, we (All D1) will be putting a better product on the court. Guy/anyone, what do you think?

Nice idea, but it would favor the big schools who have more money to do such travel. Would be a financial burden for schools our size to do it regularly. Further, if I were a school admin, I would not be in favor of "free" annual trips for a bunch of kids who aren't going to be there the following season.

But, we would have the option of staying home and playing two additional exhibition games. And keep in mind that we would not be going to Canada (as a suggestion) in order to reward kids, but rather to get them prepared to play in the upcoming season. |

Guy, enjoyed the show, but in the interest of being objective, I have to raise a point even though you said not to, or rather no reason to raise the issue. And that is the number of roster openings. You're going with one, but since two guys haven't signed, I feel compelled to ask if you are still feeling good that Njie and Moundi will sign? I ask this because the official Iona site is now announcing a TEN PLAYER roster, w/o the two players. If it's just a clerical/art work hold up, why not wait to put out the roster?
