Exactly what I said last year-early on a difficult team to prepare for in the opener-us of course!! Same this season. And yes we were at Charleston and we did play well!!

Think I just failed an IQ test, because I sat through a two hour+ MAAC Media Day followed by a 45 minute Guy podcast. At least it beats doing house work. I'll start with the MAAC Media Day, speaking of likes and not likes. Likes: * Overall format of interviewing all teams, two coaches, two players. New media guys brought enthusiasm to the Program. * An interview with the Commissioner. A younger man not afraid to make changes. * Means next to nothing, but a couple of things surprised me. Gerry McNamara was more low key than what I expected. Manhattan coach looked younger. * On the Women's side, I learned that the Manhattan coach is married to a man whose family is from Croatia. And, if I heard correctly, both the Jasper Men's and Women's teams have players coming in from Croatia. * Looks like FF is a shoe in to repeat as the Women's champion. Not Likes: * Not a big complaint about an emcee, Eddie Ochipenti (Sp?). But, I think he could have been better prepared. Too often looking down at his notes when the person he's interviewing is responding to a question that EO just asked. But, he does come across as a likeable guy. * If the MAAC really wants to improve their Media Day they should consider bringing in Jaden Daly. No one knows the League better. * And what I really didn't like concerned the Iona interview. If my eyes didn't fail me I believe I saw Clarence Rupert in a boot. No idea if he's out and if so for how long. I'll close with something that will never happen, but after three hours I can't help myself. The point was made of how the RS is even more important, with only 10 teams making the tourney. So to put even more pressure on, I'm suggesting that the three teams who don't make it, be made to go and sit in a section labelled, "Losers Locker Room".  |

The boot is precautionary. He didn't even have it on when we saw him in person on Saturday.

Well maybe just me but between Jets Firing Saleh and Mets about to play a playoff game all the Maac stuff is lost in my twitter feed. Yankee fans too have their share of stuff to read. I'm a pretty big Maac fan and I haven't spent much time on Maac tweets. |
