He actually did Guy: I thought that OS would be making huge strides this year, so while I haven't seen him play, I still have expectations that he will.

This roster is made up of some really tough kids that really like to drive to the hoop.best thing is they make buckets thru contact. Check out the latest game highlights. Clayton Jr and Myers making tough layups after contact. Jolly had a couple where he just out muscles grown men. DVE and NJJ try and dunk everything. They had more dunks these 5 games than total of last season. We know how fearless BJL is attacking the rim.
I know it's only highlights but it looks like Myers game has taken a major jump. Like ic59 posted he looks like Ross.
Enjoy the last couple days of the trip. And come home and get healthy. For those on Instagram Iona posted a video of a bunch of the guys diving off the cliff. Hysterical

I'm trying to be objective. Looking at the lineup, post Greece, for me it looks like this: C-NJJ PF-DVE (he looks stronger than QS and is second to NJJ as a rebounder) SF-BJL PG-Joiner SG-Jolly (while neither of our new guards have shown that they should start, I feel certain that RP will bring them along) The Bench: Ryan Myers-As a frosh he looks as good a shooter as Isaiah Ross did as a senior. Jolly better be ready to hold on to the starting SG position, because RM is ready. QS-Has shown that he can play SF and PF. IMO, he's ready for the start of the season. Being objective, the above seven are a given, assuming that RP can bring the backcourt up to speed. Before the PS started, I thought that OS would be making huge strides this year, so while I haven't seen him play, I still have expectations that he will. Colton Cashaw looks like he's on board to step in for EJ at the PG position. And that gives us a nine man rotation. With Parker Weiss in contention for the 10th man. However: Walter Clayton, Joshua Duach and Jordan Wildy have ALL shown enough to say that I think they could start by the time they are sophomores, and one, probably Clayton, getting minutes this year. Being objective, I'm saying that the jury is still out on Trey James and Robert Brown, But with Brown it's a medical question mark. I'll close by warning about injuries. They are a big part of the game. We went to Greece with two injured players left behind and will probably return with two more. Hopefully, all will be ready to go within a few weeks. It will be interesting to see who emerges as Nelly’s back up. It seems it’s up for grabs between Shema, Brown and James. Could be a scenario where all three push each other for that backup position.

If he's healthy, I'm pretty sure that Shema will back up Nelly. And possibly DVE as well. JMO.

Need help on this one. On the MAAC Board, there is a thread, "144 teams in 144 days", and it's down to #70 with no Iona. There are expectations that TWO MAAC teams will be included in the top 70. Guy has posted that another ranking service has Iona as the top team in the MAAC, and ranked #73. Why do posters think that two MAAC teams will be Top 70 teams, and who would be the second team?

A site called College Sports Madness puts out a top 144 each preseason, 1 a day. Rider came in ranked #115, but more importantly it says they're #3 in the MAAC. No other MAAC team has been announced, and they're on #73. These are not great previews, though. But the site is either suggesting there are 2 MAAC teams to come, or it was a typo and Rider was really #2. Here's the link to Rider. www.collegesportsmadness.com/article/19608

Well since the Giants and yanks both stink might as well stay focused on Iona hoops. Iona has a few short clips of the team scrimmaging and Shema is never on the court. Any word if he's back from his injury? Was supposed to be only 2 weeks. Before the guys left for Greece
