Super, being younger, you type faster than I do. That's why I have to cut corners by using two letters instead of three.

Ryan Meyers shot 1-8, and was 0-5 from deep. He had four rebounds and one assist. He was 4-4 from the foul line, scoring six points in 29 minutes. Now, I've only watched the HL video and read the boxscore, but to me, Ryan looks like a player. JMO, but it doesn't seem he lacks for confidence.
Anyone agree, or disagree?

He's your typical hard nosed CHSAA player. Those type recruits have thrived at Iona in the past. Comes from a great program in Christ the King. Very good perimeter shooter. What I noticed from his senior season was that he played great in the up games against national power HS/ PREP programs. Kids a winner

Ryan, only a Freshman, is a far better player than his stats showed yesterday. He is a tough, skilled and a competitive NYC player. Expect big things out of him over the next four years. His 4 for 4 from the foul line when we needed to pull away from the Pride didn’t surprise me at all. He can play under pressure.

I'm probably not the only one who noticed, but Ross looks like he has put on significant muscle/weight. Good to see he's been hitting the weights. Hopefully he's back next year too. He's another one of those iconic 3 pt shooters iona has had the past decade.

Hiya folks. Old Timer here. I'll be 96 in a few months. I can see now that my plan to reach 100 is a good possibility. I can also see that the next few years will be happy ones for Iona fans. We are loaded, particularly with a group of players who have yet to reach their potential. If things go right, we will be celebrating Iona as the King of New York and elsewhere.

Welcome back, OT. You're like the Energizer Bunny - keep going!
I was going to listen to the Hofstra radio broadcast but after reading this thread before the game I decided to go with the $12.50 option. At the outset I was a little concerned that I made a mistake. Before the game started a preview page displayed on the screen advertised the game between the Hofstra Pride and the Iona “Gales”. I was hoping the stream was going to be better than the proof reading. Then there was an announcement of a moment of silence followed by the announcement of the National Anthem. After the moment of silence, the programming cut away to some hip-hop music. I like hearing/singing the Anthem. The video stream was very good, the audio stream was very poor, and the announcers were fine (they were no Gary Stanleys though).
I was so very impressed with our play. While there was a bit of a letdown at the end of the first half, our defensive play is very good, and we hung 82 points on Hofstra at their place. NJJ is terrific. At one point early in the game he had blocks on successive possessions. IR was on fire. DVE seems to have his confidence back – we need his aggressive play. JeanLouis is remarkable. Hell, I like all of these guys. This team will only get better and stronger as the season progresses – to the extent that the season will progress. I felt badly that they didn’t get to play Merrimack, but such is life in these COVID days.
I’m guessing that RP was joking about a 2-year extension, but while I understand that his contract is for 5 years, I have heard him reference being at Iona for 7 and 8 years. I’d love to see him stay and build this program. He says that Iona is a “Sleeping Giant”. I hope that RP can awaken the sleeping giant and, as Admiral Yamamoto said, “fill him with a terrible resolve” for the rest of the MAAC and NCAA basketball.
Go Gaels!!!
