Hofstra freshman guard Chaz Williams of Brooklyn also asked for his release Tuesday. All this happened a day after former coach Tim Welsh resigned in the wake of a DWI.

He'd light the maac up. We'd be thin up front for the next 2 seasons.

Can't see another guard on the roster, if this spot is to be filled it has to be a big.

Potential bigs on the market:
Ravener, a 6-8 reserve F from BC, got his release. He's from Tampa.
Kyle Cain, a 6-7 F from URI, also got his release. I think he's from the Providence area.

Ref...Ravener... Boston College....Cain URI.....Were these guys 2010-2011 recruits who have asked out of their commitments?...I searched for stats but could find neither on the rosters for the last two years... If so they might have 4 years to play......
In any event, IMO we allready have our man in sight......
Go Gaels!!!!!

Ravener definitely was a reserve. Maybe I'm spelling his name wrong.
Um, LOL, forget Cain--he's looking at schools like Kentucky. Methinks even Grasso can't pull that off.

Solved Guy....Spelled differently, but close enough....6-8 260 lbs....Now would be a Jr...Averaged about 10 minutes a game, about 2 points and 1.4 rebounds....Sure hope we are looking at better......
Did any of of you notice that the Justice Dept. Anti Trust unit, (as if they had nothing better to do), has opened a inquiry, and wants to know why NCAA schools award scholarships on a year to year basis...The NCAA answered it is because they are Merit awards........ Boy..would any change upset the applecart...
Go Gaels!!!!!!

Wonder at this late date if the staff has decided to hold onto our last scholarship for a recruit next year. Hopefully we'll know soon
