OT's favorite Iona team (??) the baseball team has fired the head coach, Paul Panik. A replacement hasn't been named. The team has struggled, but it seems that with COVID playing havoc with the past two seasons, you could argue that the HC didn't get a fair shake. Is it possible that we are going to hire the Concordia coach? While I don't know who that is, I do know that Concordia has had many good baseball seasons.

Just spoke with him last week at golf outing. He was looking forward to playing at the Concordia campus. |

So dumb. In all honesty, I love the baseball team but once Zuc left the team has went to shit. Any baseball player knows that a team like Iona needs to do what they did with TC on the basketball front.
I'm not the AD, but if it was me, I would look at Community College coaches down south or west. You need to build the team on talent right away and only way you're going to do that is by hiring a guy with connections to it.
I heard through the grapevine that Panik was a nice guy, but his connections to talent were limited.
