Iona President, Seamus Carey sent a message out to students today, stating that long-time Iona professors, Ken and Fran Bailie did not make it home after teaching their classes last evening. Their car was found and it has been confirmed that Ken has passed away. Fran is still missing at this time. Please keep Ken, Fran and their family members in your prayers.

Sad day indeed. I had the good fortune to have my BB tix, directly behind Charlie McCabe and Mike Haggerty. As a VP of Manny Hanny, Charlie's secretary was Jeanie Blaney, who married Pat Kennedy. And from that time, Charlie, who I believe (not sure) is a Holy Cross alum, became a great fan of the Gaels. Mike, an Iona alum, was a top exec at another Bank, but I forget which one. The GC post game receptions are held in the Haggerty Room. Unfortunately, I didn't know the two professors, but may they all RIP.

This is terrible, and it begs a lot of questions. First and foremost, prayers are with the entire family. Have the circumstances of this horrible event been cleared up? Has Fran been found? I am interested in hearing that there is an explanation for this event and that the family can move on in peace.

RIP! I did not connect the above with IDA and the damage it inflicted on the Northeast and NY area. This is indeed tragic, and I can only pray for peace for family, including extended Iona family, going forward.

To be clear, as of Friday afternoon authorities still had not discovered the body of Fran. I have seen no other announcement to contradict this. Tragic.

This is just a heartbreaking story. Too many legends in the Iona community have left us recently. May all of them RIP.
