So I've reached the age where I am at risk of becoming a crabby old guy, watching the Weather Channel 10 hours a day, complaining about taxes, and telling anyone within ear shot that kids these days are soft and have it too easy and how things were much better when I was their age. It will take some effort as I think biology as much as anything wants to steer me down this road, but I just want my Gael on-line family to know, I'm working on it.

Bill, I have long considered you the poet laureate of this board. I suggest that you turn to your innate creativity to avoid becoming a curmudgeon.
Having turned 70 on September 10, I am trying my best to keep a young point of view. I even treated myself to a Mustang convertible (I am not averse to using material things for comfort). I drove it to NY on Labor Day weekend, it’s a lot of fun to drive!
I need to get back to work. Be well.

59, thank you for protecting me! I'm certain that you have a better memory of what you were doing on my 10th birthday that I have.
05, ctbill, thank you for the kind wishes.
To be somewhat on topic, I have to say that getting older is not for the faint of heart. I expected that I would have recovered from the surgery I had in late July quickly, but 6 weeks to the day from the surgery I had to go back under general anesthesia and have another procedure on September 8. Hopefully, I am on the road to recovery. I have too much to do to be slowed down and patience is not one of my strong points.
I am looking forward to the season.

Thanks, Guy. I cannot believe our meeting at Pellegrino's was 20 years ago! What a great win over UNC.
I thank you for your birthday wishes and I thank you and bill for the get well wishes. bill, you could probably use a better example than me. I'm guessing that with the passing of OT, 59 is our senior member - even if he isn't he seems a role model for aging gracefully while maintaining a "young at heart" demeanor.
