Sigh of relief! I was worried Hofstra would take Jared from us.

A real slap in the face for Steve DeMeo. In Tim Welsh's first or second year at Providence, Steve was the top assistant, while Mo Cassera was the fourth assistant, with some type of administrative title.

DeMeo is likely a victim of guilt by association.

He's a tireless recruiter. Any school would be lucky to have him.

Totally agree E-Patrick, and he also has had one year as a head coach. (I had originally expressed interest in seeing him in the mix for us.)

I think epatrick nailed it. Most schools see Steve as a recruiter, and not as a DI HC.

That is probably how he is seen.
But, with the results he has had as a head coach at other than Division1 schools, he has been a success.

Speaking of former Iona assistants, Zags tweeting that Steve Sauers may end up joining the staff at Rutgers.

At least Steve DeMeo is still employed. He is a terrific recruiter and an all-around good guy.
"Cassara said he will keep the staff that Welsh put together—assistants Steve DeMeo and Allen Griffin—and will add one coach to replace himself."
