Great teacher and basketball coach--quite a hoopster himself. More importantly--a wonderful human being who cared for his students and players. www.lohud.com/obituaries/wjn165720

Super, I didn't know him, even though we were about the same age. Do you know when he graduated or when he taught at Iona? May he RIP.

Brother Pigott was a really great tutor. He worked in the Rudin Learning Center on campus and tutored many of our mens basketball players (I knew him in the 1980's). He was a very straight-forward, no-nonsense teacher who helped the basketball players in their school work. Like many of the brothers, he was also a big basketball fan (having coached earlier in his career). I also believe that he was a successful boxer as a young man (perhaps before he joined the brothers). A really good man. May God rest his soul.
