I looked at about 6PM and I didn't see it. The sparse crowd saw a VG effort from the Lady Gaels, as they defeated Wagner by ABOUT 85 to 80. A great start for the Lady Gaels, and I'm sure that Greg will have something to say about it. In their opener Wagner knocked off Manhattan, who I believe was picked second in the MAAC. 87-62.

Crowd was actually not bad, but predominantly on the non camera facing side of the building. Very good effort. 9-19 from 3 was most impressive. Hodge-Carr is a superstar in the making. Does everything. Camillion still the leader, but was in foul trouble the whole game. Dominant victory. Wagner not impressive, but beat the MAAC pre-season #1 Manhattan on Monday. Small sample, but the team looks good.

On TV they said that Manhattan was picked #1 but I thought that on the MAAC coaches show that Quinnipiac was #1 and the Jaspers #2. But am not sure. While, I listed the score as 85-80, that was just a typo. I don't remember such a high scoring effort by the Lady Gaels.

They led 26-8 (or thereabouts) at the end of the first quarter, and still had a big lead at the half. Wasn't able to follow the 2nd half, but saw we lost by two. Our star, Juawana Camilion had 18 first half points with two fouls. She finished with 20 points and five fouls. Don't know how many minutes she played in the second half. A very tough loss.

Tough loss, but a hopeful night. After scoring only 23 points for 3 quarters against a tough Providence defense, Gaels outscore Providence 27-12 in the 4th quarter. Fell just short at 53-50. They struggle with the press. Something they hopefully can clean up.

For me the answer is being able to keep Camilion on the court. People who left after three quarters, missed a great quarter of BB.

Wire to wire tonight over Hofstra.62-46 final not indicative of the dominance. Early 3 point onslaught put this one away. Included debut of Israeli Freshman Noa Givon (8 points). Two main areas of concern are long scoring droughts (7 plus minutes in 2nd quarter) and inability to handle pressure. Even with that, could have won this one by 30.

greg, agree with everything you posted. Haven't seen the stats, yet, but I'm sure that once again we had about 20 TO's. Mager is a great 3pt shooter, and along with Camillion and Athias gives us a nice "Big Three". Add in Hodge-Carr, Lipinski and the frosh from Israel makes for a nice rotation. We have two or three guards from Spain, but I'm not sure who is the best, though I think it's Gomez. Women should have a good year, now at 3-3.

Gaels once again survive a horrific 2nd half. Again not able to handle the press, along with allowing winless Bethune-Cookman to shoot 62% for the half. 30 turnovers!! If the team ever figures out the press and 2nd half slumps they could be very good. Wins feel like a loss.

Flipped the script today in first MAAC game vs. preseason favorite Quinnipiac. Gaels led at 2-0 and then not again until 6 seconds left in the game. Win 57-54. Still a turnover machine, but 4th quarter was brilliant. Aided by a few missed FT's by Quinni.
