Marian was indeed a very nice woman, and a pleasure to speak with. She and Lou were fixtures at Iona BB games. She had many jobs in the Athletic Dept., including being Jeff Ruland's secretary. She always spoke of Jeff's kindness, whenever talking about him. In later years, her sports conversation centered around her grandson, Kurt Casali, who has been in the Big Leagues for a number of years, as a Catcher, at one time with Tampa Bay and Cincinnati, though I'm not sure which team he is presently on. She and Lou were next door neighbors to OT, living in walking distance to the College.
May she Rest In Peace.

Marian Casali was the mother of us all in Iona Athletics. I first met Marian when she worked in Secretarial Services in the very early 1980's. Was thrilled when she transferred to Athletics. On top of her work in Athletics, Marian was responsible for much of the administrative functions for the Iona College Day Camps for years. Now Marian and her late great husband, Lou (who passed away a few years ago), are reunited forever. My condolences to her sons and family. Rest in peace, Marian and Lou.
