Hey Guys and Guy.....Love the new board set up now that I have mostly figured it out, but...have a question....
Old board was almost instant in changing from post to post, thread to thread, and site to site....I have found the new board to be much slower and taking almost a minute or more at times to change. Also the latest post box can be far behind, and the re-fresh button needs to be hit.
Is this a problem with the new board?....Do others have this problem, or is it my computer....
I would like a comment or two, (if it is my problem ) before I ask my son to make a trip down from Newport R.I for a computer check up
Note: I don't seem to have this problem with other use of my computer...
Aside....Did Willard and his success start what looks like a move to young coaches as opposed to older re-threads....?

OT, re the board speed, there are more graphic "elements" involved in this site thanks to the efforts of WP, and as such they take longer to load. I don't have much of a speed problem on my computers (work or home), but on my BlackBerry Storm this site does take considerably longer to load up than the Arborwood board. So, machine speed does matter a little here. If this board is the only site that's giving you trouble in terms of loading speed, it's likely "just the way it is". Sorry for the inconvenience.
Side note re Willard: Hazell and the other kid have pulled out of the NBA draft and are returning to SHU. Willard should be in the NCAAs next year. Wouldn't it be a kick in the tail to see #5 SHU taking on #12 Iona in the first round. :-D

I'd sign up for that. Unfortunately, it looks like they may have lost Herb Pope, but hopefully the kid will be alright.

Thanks Guy...understand...........If we get a talented power forward to fill that blank position, it might be Iona #5 taking on Seton Hall #12.....Don't want to see another guard added...Eight would create a team imbalance and problems in playing time.....5 front court players would be a big problem if injuries strike...I think and hope our staff feels the same way.

I think we were a little spoiled with the Arborwood board, that board loaded faster than just about any web site I've ever visited. What I'm having a little trouble getting used to is the links dropdown... a little too small for my aging eyesight and I was just very used to them displayed on the main page. Other than that, I like some of the features the new board has.

I like the new board. Once people get used to the look and feel they'll soon forget the arborwood board.
One benefit I'm seeing already...... No double posts from Oldtimer....

Im computer stupid also but when I click on a "Link Of Interest" it replaces this site instead of opening up a new window. IS that a site setting or my own comp? |
