St. Bonaventure (14-18) lost 65-54 to Davidson at the Barclays Center in the A10 tournament. New Mexico (22-10) won 87-76 over Wyoming at a neutral site in the Mountain West tournament. #10 St. Peter's (13-17) upset #2 Rider (16-14) 70-62. Jaylen Murray led the Peacock attack with 22 points. Mervin James was the high scorer for the Broncs with 13 points. Box score: stats.statbroadcast.com/broadcast/?id=459743In the Rider-SPU game just about every Iona fan thought that Murray would be the difference maker. Just not SPU's Murray.

Rider has won one quarterfinal game in the past decade, and it was against Iona and Pitino. Crazy!

SMU vs UCF is on ESPNU right now, early 2nd half SMU trying to pull upset. Seattle is the 4 seed in the WAC I believe, so not only do we root for those top 2 WAC teams to fall, but Seattle the team to win boosts us as well. SLU just won its A10 game big. All these things matter!

joebird, you epitomize what an Iona fan is all about. A David taking on Goliath. And it's always great to root for David. As I posted in my tidbits piece, Iona offers an easier/faster path to 1K wins, and I hope someone reminds Rick of that.

The Home City Advantage:
Both Fordham and St. John's played yesterday in tournaments which took place in their home city. One won and one lost but both had an IDENTICAL foul shot advantage. The NYC teams had 24 attempts and the visitors had 12 attempts.
File this under Fun With Numbers.

He got to 1,000 wins by bringing mid majors into the Carrier Dome for blood donations.

SLG, OOC make up about 1/3 of your schedule. Then JB had to play BE and ACC teams. Iona is just the opposite. And with RP not too many away OOC games. JMO.
