I’d honestly prefer it in Albany at this point. I’m probably going to make the trip to AC this year but I doubt many others will. Isn’t March madness all about the atmosphere? What’s the fun in playing in an empty lifeless arena

2018, what if the choice were between Albany and Mohegan Sun?

I think most know my opinion, Albany is a big no.
I don't get this narrative how Albany is such a great atmosphere for the Games. They don't support the tournament, they support the home team Siena.
The attendance for the finals, without Siena are about the same whether in Albany or AC.
2015-16: Semifinals vs Siena..5700 Finals vs Monmouth..3100
2014-15, at-large yr: Quarterfinals vs Siena..5300 Finals vs Manhattan..2900
The year Iona played Siena in finals..7400
One bid league should never have tournament on a programs homecourt

They only show for Siena, and the last few years not even well for them. UBS would get much better walk up crowds the day of games. Wish they wouldn't sign a deal for three years, should try UBS for one year next year. Ac and Albany have had enough chances. It was a long time ago but Iona vs Fordham in Metro area (Meadowlands) had 7,500 for the finals in 84. Haven't played in NYC area since late 80's, that's a long time to not play the championship in the heart of your league.

Loved the UBS mixed option.
UBS will pick-up the AE, CAA or NEC and the MAAC will be on the outside looking in once again.
This is what you get when you strive for mediocrity.

No advantage to top seed or seeds is ludicrous. We play 20 games for what? Nonsense.

Top seeds should be hosting The UBS proposal was perfect. Satisfied both arguments. Home games, but at least earned. Semis and finals on neutral court. I never really bashed Ensor. Thought he was spot on getting involved with ESPN3 right from the beginning, which led locking in as host for Disney tournament. Was great handling the covid yr with all the canceled games. His comments in this article are ridiculous. Hope the new commissioner has a better vision

If Iona went 20-0 in this league we’d still be on the bubble outside looking in. They need to give some sort of advantage to the top seed. Insane!

Last year Iona was 25-6 heading into tournament. Maybe I'm wrong, but IF Iona beat SLU and 18-2 in MAAC. Hard to believe at 27-5 after Rider loss, Iona wouldn't have been on the bubble. Either way for a commissioner to say no matter what it's impossible is ridiculous obviously he wouldn't even fight for it. Honestly, I think Guy's # twitter campaign helped Iona more than Ensor

For Ensor to make that comment, that it's impossible, is dumb as shit. Just shows he never fought for the MAAC

Point is there needs to be a reward/advantage for winning your league. Obviously it’s irrelevant now with UBS proposal out of play.

Is it public knowledge how the MAAC Presidents voted for the tournament site?
