MAAC down to 3 sites for '24 MAAC tournament. AD'S have made recommendations, waiting for approval from school presidents.
IMO, UBS proposal is no Brainer. Early rounds on campus, with Semis and Final at UBS. No way tournament should be held at MVP arena

Agree with campus games and semi/final at UBS. Reward higher seeds with home games make's it easier to plan ahead for semis & final. Go Gaels!!

It's the most central location of all 3 choices as well. It's time to try something new and this is it.

UBS Arena would seem like a no brainer…

Tournament hasn’t been in the New York metro area since 1989, need to give it another try. 7 of 11 schools within an hour and a half. And tourney has never been in New York part of Ny metro area. Give UBS a try!

If UBS means Iona would possibly host a quarter finals game, assuming we finish in the top four spots, then this is a good move for Iona. A sellout quarter finals game with 2,650 fans at home, followed by a close by semi-finals and finals at UBS a half an hour away, would certainly, in my opinion, help attract more fans.

Campus sites with UBS is a no-brainer… exactly why the MAAC will chose otherwise.
Since they are down to these 3 options, curious to know who were the others and why they were eliminated.

This made me laugh but is probably true. This allows the league to strongly look at attendance figures for home conf tournament games without going all in. It should definitely weed out some upsets I think in the first couple rounds as well, with better chances that the host gets the best teams. The empty arenas need to be mitigated somehow and this would be a good start. Also it's 15 mins from me.

Interesting. Not a big fan Of Atlantic City. I guess we will see what it draws this year, but I'm really not expecting much. You all know that I love Albany. If you're going to do a full tournament at one site I still think it's a good venue. Having said that, I love the UBS idea. It's definitely worth a try at the very least. Would be great for the local teams if they end up there. The only problems I could foresee is hotel and parking accommodations for the out of town fans. Let's say the final four were Niagara, Canisius, Mount Saint Mary's & Rider. Would hotels be affordable? Convenient? I realize it's highly unlikely to happen like that next year. But it is something to think about. I'm with most of you though. This is a no-brainer. They should go with it!
