If Pitino leaves he has to be considered, winners win! He is Cluess reincarnated. If Pitino leaves, the first phone calls should be Grasso and Anderson. And the search can end right there with one of those two. Young

A lot of complaints about tickets yesterday but it seems many of the season ticket holders who requested tickets, including myself, got a chance to get tickets today. I’m now going. How about others? Are there season ticket holders out there who wanted tickets and didn’t get them? From my perspective Tom and the staff did a good job in a very tough situation! I’m thinking maybe they got tickets from the other Gaels who are unlikely to bring many fans.

Politely decline. I am done with the 3 year stepping stone coaches personally. But I understand the other side of the argument certainly.

Maybe Young brings him home? That's a Young aggressive staff that can recruit and well respected. Also good chance to keep a good part of the roster, including Pasha Have always been a Grasso fan, but in my mind. Wouldn't be at top of list. Didn't care for the on court stuff he allowed his players to do last season. Really struggled this season. And quite frankly showed he needs to mature as a coach. He under performed this year, and now lost 2 very good guards to the transfer portal today. Like Super said, IF Pitino leaves, let's see who the candidates are.

Not the time to discuss, but since it’s out here, I Agree with 05 in that doubt we would keep Young for more than 2 years never mind 3.

Probably makes sense to hold on this for a few more days and in a thread that doesn’t overlap with our tourney game, but Grasso is a proven MAAC winner and he comes in a package deal with Cluess as an assistant. It is a no brainer and is a guaranteed winning formula that would ensure we don’t miss a beat.
Not interested in investing in some hot shot young assistant who has no ties to Iona only to hand him off to a “better” program in a few years.
This is not the old days of our program, and Iona deserves more than being treated as a stepping stone job like it was historically. Those days are over IMO. My two cents is Grasso/Cluess or Anderson. Both would be can’t miss hires and ensure long-term continuity.

This is not Iona 1998 or even 2008. We deserve to be treated as a destination job not as a stepping stone. This is just my opinion of course. I know nothing about Young other than he wreaks of being a 2-3 year rental coach who skips town at the first sign of a “promotion”. Anyway, sorry to go off topic. Promised ourselves we wouldn’t get distracted with this talk until the season was over.

Anderson=stepping stone. Not long term continuity. So you want a D1 coach who will stay?

Grasso/Cluess is a guarantee for immediate success and they would be inheriting a program with resources that they were dying to have when they were winning MAAC championships previously. What is the risk there? Or we hire a young assistant who has all of zero games experience as a head coach who in the best case will be successful here and then leave after a few years. This is just my opinion.
