Joe forget the obsession with the Post and coverage. One sure way to make sure we don't get coverage is to keep yelling at these guys and accusing them of being biased. They are human after all. We can't deny the fact that SJ's has more fans in the NY area than we do and that dictates their coverage. |

We can't deny the fact that SJ's has more fans in the NY area than we do and that dictates their coverage. Bill, with Zach Braziller it goes far deeper than SJU having more alumni/fans. He has had a hard-on for Iona going back, at least, to Cluess early days. An example was when Rickey McGill originally committed to Manhattan he had nothing but praise for McGill. After Masiello got caught up in the degree crap and McGill committed to Iona, Braziller took a pot shot at the kid questioning his grades and if he would be eligible... stuff that was complete crap, a shot at McGill and at Cluess recruiting history. Zach loves SJU and really liked Masiello, not so much for Iona and Cluess for some reason. As for Zags, I think he favors whoever is going to feed him the info he needs to write articles. He loved Iona when he was being fed info from the staff... it seemed like every fourth article was about Iona recruiting, when Cluess clamped down on info being shared, he went back to normal coverage. Either way, they have zero influence on anything that is going to/ or not going to happen. I take what they say with a grain of salt. If his article concerning Masiello catches the eye of some AD and that helps Masiello land the job of his dreams, God bless them both. |

I think it's pretty funny that when Pitino goes through his list of great Iona coaches, he never mentions his own guy Kevin Willard lol

Peter Hamilton and I pumping up Silas for his big game. He will be the X factor this game if nelly or Shema gets in foul trouble. He’ll need to do the little things like rebound. Pitino said he’s going to play some minutes with how big UCONN is. I won’t be able to get to Albany but will be with Peter watching the game. Get Peter a slice of armonk pizza! |

I think it's pretty funny that when Pitino goes through his list of great Iona coaches, he never mentions his own guy Kevin Willard lol yes he does, for me he says it too much. You can't compare Willards success at Iona to others, he really had no success. |

As for tweets I did one this year to Braziller and one to Vaccaro (who I actually like). Both deserved it and it wasn't overkill. No more. What your not realizing, is this is the main coverage Iona can get in the NY media and they hardly give us any, surely not our fair share. What this does is make few New York sports fans aware of Iona basketball, which makes them less likely to watch or attend games. The NY post unfair coverage hurts Iona basketball and Iona University, and costs the school money! |
