The RP attraction for Kentucky: * He'll keep the Program in the news, unlike any of the other potential candidates. * U of K recognizes that it would be a short term solution, and could start to plan for his replacement, ASAP. * Knows his way around Lexington, and he can coach. * Lexington is horse country, and RP is a horse's ........ . Perfect together. |

They could pretty much insert whoever they want into that job, hard to believe 72 y/o FURP would even be on their short list, but how glorious it would be if they did. Unfortunately, he'll probably be around NYC another 5/6 years just to torture us - especially, Joebird. |

RP spotted in Lexington over the weekend--Keeneland Race Track Spring Meet opening weekend.
(Might be that Repole had a horse running. He also has the favorite in the Derby.)
Quite a conflict for RP.)

Jay Wright and Billy Donovan want nothing to do with the NIl. 1 of Hurley, Pitino, Bruce Pearl, Nate Oats or Scott Drew will be the next Kentucky coach imo

Another way to look at it. IF RP doesn't get the UK job, it tells me that the 'Big Boys' think he's over the hill. In fact I heard that his Sell By Date is 12/31/23.
