Michael O’Connell - ★★★★ (247) PG out of Chaminade High School and then Blair Academy (NJ). Originally was headed to Maryland to play Lacrosse and had committed to them early his sophomore year which hurt his hoops recruitment. Once he changed his mind and reopened his recruitment for hoops all the Ivy's came calling. He was a Top 100 recruit in both Lacrosse and Hoops. His brother Thomas played Lacrosse at Maryland and then used his final year of sports eligibility to play hoops at SJU. Both of his parents are SJU grads so I would expect him to be a strong SJU lean. His mother, Tara, was a two-time All-Big East selection for St. John’s in softball. |

Let's see who the staff can close with, but damn they are working hard I think it was longtime recruiting guru Tom Konchalski who listed the top three reasons a recruit selects a school as: 1. Conference 2. Head Coach 3. School itself Tom died in 2021 the same year NIL went into effect. I wonder what his list would say today? (Not to mention the 1,500 players entering the transfer portal annually). As if recruiting wasn't difficult enough, it's become exponentially harder. The staff is working hard because they have to work really hard. |

Trying not to get too excited but wow if the staff lands 2 or 3 of the names I’m seeing visit and set to visit, we quickly become a very talented team again. Starting to like this new era!

We're in the mix, but def need to land some of these impact guys. We have SOME time, but the portal IS starting to thin out--need to lock in some of these better players. |

Good news: just got a DM on Twitter that somebody committed to Iona. Source is as close to program as you can get
Bad news: didn't say who it was!!

As dumb as it sounds I want Iona to build a recruiting background for their recruits! These kids love to look cool on social media. Atleast take pics in front of the 3D crest in the hallway at Hynes.

If Sean Durugordon were to commit, wouldn’t he need a waiver? He already transferred from mizzou to Austin peay and according to ESPN, he’s only a sophomore.
