Bizarre how much Manhattan has changed over 25 years. I have friends and family who are alums so I hate to see this.

Manhattan also sold off its second largest dorm facility, 400 student Overlook Manor, to a developer of low income housing for $18 million. While most schools are trying to expand housing to attract students outside of NYC, they are reducing their footprint. That is a bit strange.

I go back to the Ken Norton days of Manhattan BB. In the old days I was at the 'old' MSG watching Manhattan play West Virginia and Jerry West. Was rooting for the Jaspers, in large part, because their starting PG was Johnny O'Conner who was a senior at Iona Prep when I was a freshman. O'Conner started at Iona College but then went into the US Navy for two years and when he came out he enrolled at Manhattan and did very well. So with their current problems I'll be rooting for the Jaspers when they are NOT playing Iona.
Shows how important it is to have a VG president.

After reading the MAAC Board, I've come away with the opinion that Manhattan's problem was due in large part to their former president. At least that is what a lot of Jasper fans are writing. And in my above post I expressed my opinion about our president. But it got me thinking about the leadership of the University (still sounds strange to me). And while the day to day leadership of the school is in the hands of the president and the various Department Heads, the people in charge of Iona is really the Board of Trustees. And since Jim Hynes stepped down as the Chairman, and with the passing of Joanne Murphy, I really don't know much about them. Although, it seems that they are doing a great job. In fact I must admit that my only recent thought about the Board was a negative one, when I read that they opposed RP"s request for MORE MONEY. It just shows that as fans we form opinions without knowing all the facts. And while I don't like to be wrong, I certainly was in this case.
Maybe Super or Guy can provide some inside info on our Board. It would be appreciated.
